After graduation from college, I was awarded a four-year full-time national grant for training research (plan estatal de Formación de Personal Investigador (FPI).
My research has focused on intelligent systems for signal processing applied to biomedical applications and recently on green computing. I have participated in nine research projects of regional and national research programs, to all of which I was admitted in the course of competitive public tenders.
Currently, I am participating as a researcher in the project “New computing paradigms and heterogeneous parallel architectures for high-performance and energy efficiency of classification and optimization tasks on biomedical engineering applications” (HPEE-COBE, PGC2018-098813-B-C31) from 01/01/2019 to 31/12/2022, which is funded to the tune of 244,000 € granted by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of the Government of Spain and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Inter alia, I have published articles in three specialised journals in science citation index Q1 and another three in Q2 according to the Web of Science. My research has averaged 11.4 citations/year over the past five years, yielding the following bibliometric statistics: Web of Science, WoS:

Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Granada and Ph. D. in Electronic Engineering, as well as from the University of Granada with the thesis titled “New algorithms for blind separation of sources using geometrical methods”, obtaining the highest achievable mark.
During the drafting of my thesis, I completed the following short-term stays as a visiting researcher:
I also have gained business experience having worked for 15 months at the Department of Innovation and Research of a web design company developing e-commerce web sites. During this period, I simultaneously worked at the University as an associate lecturer. After this period, I joined the university with an exclusive contract.
I am currently working as a Senior Lecturer in Computer Architecture and Technology at the University of Granada (ATC-UGR) and am a member of a research group on circuits and systems for information processing (CASIP).
My areas of interest as a teacher are focused on computer technology and architecture.
I am co-author of a textbook published by McGraw-Hill (Schaum's Series) Editor.

I have participated in 8 educational innovation projects in open public calls. One of them, “Development and production of a course on computer basics for open access online and flipped classroom methodology” was awarded the Social Council's Award for Training Activities Online at the University of Granada (2019). I have also participated in four editions of the MOOC “Digital information” organised by the CEPRUD (University of Granada).
My present teaching activity is focused on the subjects of computer architecture and technology at the Computer Engineering bachelor level. I also participate in the official Master's in Technologies for market research and marketing (University of Granada).
